Hello peaches! Today’s post is written from my gorgeous friend’s right good garden party! What better occasion to wear this ‘mingo dress along with my lovely lavender Yull block heels. For those of you who regularly follow my blog, you will know that I am a bit in love with the fabulous fifties and the sassy sixties so I was more than delighted to be able to review this “Flamingo Print” Isabella Dress from Lady Vintage.
Lady Vintage cater for a range of marvellous ladies from Little Ladies to Lady Voluptuous, with sizes from 8-32 – they really do have it all going on. I particularly adore that they are all made within London, as a patriotic Brit myself; it is wonderful to see vintage styles of such high quality being made within this country.

A beautiful detail I love about the Isabella Dress is that the sweet little pink bow at the front is completely attachable catering for personal preference. As you can imagine – I am a fan of bows and the bigger the better. But for those that may not be as girly, I thought it was a nice touch that this can come off if desired. The flamingo print is totally statement and if you ever wanted a dress to do the talking – this is the one for you.
The sweetheart neckline is so flattering and as mamma says, “never show legs and décolletage” – the length falls just below the knee – so you’re safe. This dress was worn in the photos with a cerise pink petticoat underneath but you could also wear without for a more day-to-day look – I would wear it like this with my converse and frilly socks.
As well as flamingos, no good garden party would be complete without pineapples right? Well if you love this pineapple ice bucket as much as I do, how do you fancy winning your very own courtesy of www.totally-funky.co.uk ? To enter: click here.
I know that lots of you have asked if I actually dress like this on a day to day basis – the answer? I actually do! Granted – I don’t wake up like this, but it’s how I look now! I believe that fashion, after music is a huge part of self expression, especially for me. If how you dress helps explore who you are then you should dive head first into your wardrobe and get swimming.
While I was pregnant I was bombarded by people saying that “once you have your baby, you won’t have time to dress like that” – well my daughter is just over 3 months and here I am, still dressing like this! I take inspiration from my own mother who had 4 children all under the age of 7, still got up early to make sure her face was on and got ready for the day. I am still human though and some days are spent in my gym leggings and trainers. Whatever your own version of fabulous is – rock it.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the above lavender lovelies from Yull! I have recently sourced a vintage lavender bag in the same colour so these beauties will be attending more occasions this summer (you got to love a matching bag & shoes combo!) They are so soft and kiss my feet every time I wear them! Yull are another brand that is made in England and their designer range of heels, boots and court shoes simply ooze elegance at every step.
So July the 1st (where has this year gone!) brings the first of many giveaways over on my Instagram page. This one is c/o www.totally-funky.co.uk where you could win one of their Pineapple Ice Buckets! Perfect for your summer garden party, they are made from mouldable plastic with a removable glass container that holds plenty of ice to keep you cool! If you fancy using this in the cooler months – you could always pop some sweeties or other treats in it and make it a centrepiece at your party table instead! The other girls in The Northernettes are going crazy over this giveaway and may just be entering it themselves to try and win one! Katie already has two of these iconic pieces but says “there is always room for another pineapple!” The giveaway runs for two weeks (July 1st – July15th) and will be posted out to the lucky winner just in time for the school’s summer holidays to begin!
