Hello Peaches! Well it has been another busy time for me and in true “Virgo” style – I have been already thinking ahead and prepping for CHRISTMAS. Yes, I said it. Only 14 more Mondays (don’t hate me) but I am so equipped for the festive season already. Lists have been made, presents started on and gigs/performances booked in!
Now I know we officially have 9 days left of Summer (British Autumn time begins September 22nd!) – I honestly cannot help but think that I already want to wear my sixties shift dresses and pop colour tights. Each time I go to layer up – I am sweltering! What better to wear than these “Winnie” trousers c/o The Seamstress of Bloombsbury in the Mayflower print.
Made from a soft authentic Rayon Crepe de Chine – just like back in the forties – these trousers are lightweight and so comfortable.
I am so impressed with just how versatile these are, ideal for the seasons changing. I recently wore these trousers for a rehearsal with The Northernettes with a khaki green vest top and some nude pumps. Rehearsals can be long days with lots to try and cram in – staging, run throughs as well as catch-ups with the girls. What I love about The Seamstress Of Bloomsbury and their range is that the fabrics are just so soft and wearable.
Perfect with the Winnie trousers is this “Jive” blouse with sweeter than life puff sleeves and a pretty peter pan collar. The cream colour is so crisp and it even has teeny love heart shaped buttons to the front. I wore this when I held a garden hen party for one of my friends recently. Do not be fooled with how cute this gazebo and bunting look however – shortly after these pictures – the gazebo tipped itself upside down and all over my garden!
For a garden party with the girls I paired the Winnie and the Jive blouse with some cream pumps and a dusty pink hair orchid c/o www.shopjuicylucy.com. My curls are my own – after a few months of following the Curly Girl method and leaving my hair as natural as possible, my curls are super soft and don’t need any maintaining. You can read about the Curly Girl Method here.
Ah my favourite dusty rose pink cropped jacket! I sourced this vintage beauty from my fellow Northernette Katie’s shop – Vintage Hearts. I originally got this a year or so ago but fell pregnant and was unable to fasten it up! It is a tailored fit and fully lined – I am in love with it. If you need a more formal outfit for work or even just to feel more business like then all you need is a good fitted blazer to go with this blouse and trouser combo. I have paired this with my favourite brand of jellies – these are the black from Sun Jellies. Comfortable for working and being on your feet all day and just peeking out enough under the trousers. Of course you could pair with some heels if you needed a full corporate feel to the day. Again – the pink orchid hair flower is from Juicy Lucy. However you wear, you are definitely going to get your wear out of this outfit! I love hearing from my readers so please get in touch and let me know how you wear yours!
