Hello peaches! Today’s post brings something different…. a corset review! C/O the most fabulous Corset Story, I received this fabulous peach over-bust corset as well as an under-bust corset (review coming soon!) to try out.
The art of corsetry is an ancient one, sometimes frowned upon, sometimes approached by intrigued minds. I first became interested in them pre-pregnancy when I found an original vintage prom dress with a boned bodice and built in corset. As soon as I had put it on I just felt like I had traveled back in time. The fit was perfect and the corset/boned bodice really added to the glam factor. I began to delve deeper into the corset world.
For those of you who regularly follow my blog/social – you will know that I am a fan of all things peachy keen so when Corset Story sent me this – of course I had died and gone to Georgia Peach heaven.
‘The 3d flower buds on the sweetheart neckline are the most prettiest detail I have ever seen’
Made from 100% Polyester with a 100% cotton twill lining, this corset is so comfortable to wear. The quilted hip panels create instant curves and don’t dig in like most other corsets I have tried. The most delightful detail has to be the peachy bloom colouring and the contrasting khaki green lacing to the back. This corset also came with a pack of additional 3d flowers in case any did come away but the quality of the stitching means that this would be highly unlikely. I thought that was a nice touch for those “just in case” moments. There are bra strap loops as well as suspender loops attached to the corset making it versatile to wear in and out of the bedroom.
The flat steel and flexible spiral steel boning lets you move about well and I liked how easy it was to lace up at the back. The only thing missing from this shoot in the woods was definitely some fairy wings and glitter because I absolutely felt like an ethereal being wearing this stunning piece.
I have had a lot of you asking about corsets, waist trainers and what I wear so I will be doing a review of Corset Story’s waist training under-bust shortly. I have been wearing it regularly for the last few weeks and wanted to wear for a month to test the results and to give it a fair review. I regularly wear cosets, waist trainers and supports (let’s face it, who doesn’t need that extra spandex!) and actually also wore a postpartum wrap which I found very beneficial. I love to perform on stage wearing corsets because I feel fabulous and ready for anything. Stay tuned to my blog for the do’s and don’ts as well as a full review of the under-bust coming soon.
I chose this silver box pleat skirt to wear with this corset because I wanted to show that corsets are not always worn as underwear! I think there is a high misconception that they are one of those items that you only keep in your “bottom drawer” but they are actually so pretty and can be worn many ways. I also used a chiffon vintage head scarf from my store as a belt and wore with nude ballet pumps.
The items in this blog post have been gifted to me to review. I will always give my 100% honest opinion and never accept products that I would not be happy to buy and choose myself.
