A Bag For Days When You Want To Slay Giants – The Diner Grab Bag by Vendula

Untitled

Looking for a quirky bag for work? This Vendula Grab Bag is perfect for you.

I love Rock & Roll, so put another dime in the jukebox baby….

Now for some, the “Britney Spears” version of this song will now be firmly stuck in your head. However, I am more of an old soul. I only have ears for Joan Jett & the Blackhearts and their grungy badass version of I Love Rock N Roll.

I associate rock and roll with a sweet American diner, red plaid table cloths and cute waiters blowing chewing gum bubbles while they take your order. Of course, as soon as I saw the Vendula Diner Grab Bag, well I could almost here the jukebox playing. I love their range so much. It was almost impossible to choose one to review because each and every piece is a work of art.

Untitled  The lining is printed with their trademark “London” scene print. This includes the big red buses, Bucking Palace soldiers and underground signs to name but a few. You can read about my last Vendula review here featuring the fabulous “Ladies Day” Grab Bag.

The Diner Grab Bag has a sassy silver and electric blue faux leather with a detachable strap. One feature I also love is it’s teeny little studded feet that just makes it sit up and pay attention. It’s almost like it’s just waiting by the front door all ready for today’s outing.

Fresh from the swinging sixties, this piece is so complimentary to all the loud and “a bit out there for the office” kind if outfits that I am loving right now. For work (see above)  – I paired it with cobalt blue tights, white Mary Janes and a white dress The kind of coordination that I used to only dream about. This is the perfect “work bag” for me with it’s colourful diner scene because it literally “drives-thru” along with me from the office to cocktails after work.

I am feeling well and truly at home with my sense of style at the moment. Having gone from self-employment to an employed position and therefore having to adjust my working wardrobe to fit in, I feel the transition has been an easy one. Being “a bit bright” is something I feel I just cannot compromise on and so here I am making no excuses for any eccentricity that may come forward.

I found an old Pinterest board recently, one I started 4 years ago – purely for “office style. 651 pins later, here I am still, again, discovering new ways to wear colour in the office. I mean if that does not confirm that I am indeed addicted to fashion then I have no idea what will. Fashion is the armour we put on, the protective layer that we don in order to take on the world. It has the ability to make you feel empowered and ready to slay giants, or the ability to hide under your duvet and fill your soul with chocolate hobnobs. Pretty powerful hey?

That’s why you NEED a bag as beautiful as this – you know, for days when you slay giants.
